Too Busy to Pee!
"So listen to your body and make a note of the signs that you need a break. As much as possible, take a few minutes to change your pace, and if you don’t have time to pee, do what you can to claim back what is rightfully yours - that fundamental human right to take a washroom break." Coquitlam Mounties - Helping Out in Step into Action
Coquitlam RCMP would like to advise the motoring public of Dr. Riley Senft’s cross-Canada run, raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer early detection and research. Dr. Senft began his run in Cape Spear, NL seven months ago and has now arrived near Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam areas.
“One in six Canadian men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and this more than doubles if you have a family history of the disease," says Senft. "I lost a Grandfather to Prostate Cancer and have stood by my father as he has bravely faced it twice in the last five years. My message is simple – with a 90% success rate when caught early, the Steps to Action can save your life."
On October 5 at about 9:30 in the morning, Dr. Senft and his team will be running through the Mary Hill Bypass, Kingsway Avenue, McLean Avenue and Pitt River Road in Port Coquitlam. Then the run will continue along westbound on Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam and enter Burnaby for 11:15 am. Coquitlam RCMP will be on hand to provide assistance to the running team.
While Dr. Senft and his team are running in the Coquitlam RCMP’s patrol area, there may be some minor traffic flow changes for short periods of time. Motorists are asked to exercise patience for this worthy cause.
